Jaw Pain

Is jaw pain a dental emergency? While dealing with jaw pain can be frustrating, it is not usually a dental emergency. However, if your pain lasts for a long time, call our office to prevent serious oral health issues from developing later.

How you should handle jaw pain: Jaw pain can usually be treated with over-the-counter pain medication and by applying an ice pack to reduce discomfort and swelling. Feel free to call us for further guidance on treating your jaw pain.

How we treat jaw pain: If your jaw pain is the result of teeth grinding, we may recommend a mouthguard to relieve your teeth and jaw joints of pressure. If your jaw pain is caused by emerging wisdom teeth, we may have to extract them to prevent serious oral health issues.
